HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. (October 19, 2012) - Centenary College has just announced that it will serve as the "Official Home Venue" of The Jersey Express for the 2012-13 season.
The Jersey Express has been an Official Member of the American Basketball Association (ABA) since 2005 and is striving to become the only Professional Basketball Team (with NBA ties) in the state of NJ. The ABA is known as a Historic League, with the World Famous Red, White and Blue Ball, made famous by the likes of Julius ‘Dr. J' Irving, George ‘Ice' Gervin, Connie Hawkins, Dan Issel, Artis Gilmore, and David Thompson to name a few.
Centenary College will also be holding a "Meet-N-Greet" with The Jersey Express tentatively set for November 18th in the John M. Reeves Student Recreation Center. This event will be FREE and open to the community, faculty, staff, and student body. The Meet-N-Greet will allow fans an opportunity to meet The Jersey Express players and coaching staff as well as participate in a photo session and some mini-contests.
"We are thrilled to have The Jersey Express on campus this year. This partnership not only provides The Jersey Express a home venue, but it will also present many hands-on experience opportunities for our Centenary students through internships in marketing and promotions, sales, and game day operations. We are looking forward to an exciting season of Jersey Express Basketball at Centenary College!" said Centenary College Athletic Director Billie Jo Blackwell.
