Phase II of the Main Street StreetScape Project ON HOLD UNTIL SPRING Update 12-7-11

12-7-11 The construction company has placed the project on hold until springtime due to the changing weather conditions and the likelihood that the weather will not be conducive for cement work until spring. This happens to be a great opportunity to postpone work until spring as the majority of the concrete work is completed within the block from Plane Street to Center Street and they have not yet begun to excavation of the old sidewalks on the next block.

11-7-11 The construction crews have completed the western section of Phase II and are currently working on a catch basin and drainage at Plane Street and preparing to pour the sidewalks from Valley Auto up to and including cement on the next section Mr. L. Carducci Law Offices at 256 Main Street.

11-8-11The construction crews continue to move eastward towards center street. Working on a catch basin between 256 and 260 Main Street where water drainage and iceing had been a problem during the winter months.

12-5-11 Progress has been slow the last several weeks with weather and other issues arising during the pouring of the sidewalks. So, They are still working on the same section of Main Between Plane and Center streets at this time. Although, their progress seems to be eminent to in starting on the next block in front of the Meehan Oil and continue towards Warren Street as weather will allow.
