BID Businesses Supporting ARC Radiothonby David Rucki on April 9, 2008 at 10:19 am More than 1,000 people will respond Fri., April 18 when the Arc of Warren County reaches out to the greater Hackettstown community during the 18th annual WRNJ Radiothon for The Arc. The showroom of Hackettstown Ford, 100 Main Street, will be buzzing with activity as business and community leaders take to the phones for pledges to The Arc's Camp Warren program and Arc recreation services. Co-chairmen Norman Worth, vice president and general manager of WRNJ Oldies 1510, and Jim Travis, president of SASCO Insurance Services, hope to raise $65,000 during the 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. event. Russ Long, beloved morning man at WRNJ, will kick off the Radiothon effort Wed., April 16 during his 6 to 10 a.m. shift, and continue Thursday and Friday as Radiothon 2008 gets underway at the Ford dealership. ABC Radio Network News correspondent Deirdre Bryant will be on hand all day April 18 to present "live" updates and interviews with Radiothon VIPs, Arc employees and families, and persons served by The Arc, and local businesses will provide food and refreshment to all. SPECIAL NOTE: Hackettstown Dunkin' Donuts will be donating 10% from all proceeds on Radiothon Day, Friday, April 18 from 6 am to 3 pm.
