This is an opportunity to welcome shoppers into Hackettstown and to officially kick-off the 2008 Holiday Shopping Season. Here is some of the programming that will be taking place:

Hometown Holiday Parade @ 7:00pm: Much like we did last year, there will be a Holiday Parade down Washington Street then to Moore Street and ending at the Gazebo. The Colonial Musketeers, Hackettstown High School Marching Band, Hackettstown High School Cheerleaders, other area marching bands and groups, and yes.... Santa will be brought in by horse drawn sleigh.

Tree Lighting & Pictures with Santa @ 8:00pm: Once the parade concludes at the Gazebo, Santa will be on hand with the Mayor to light the Tree and officially kick off the Hometown Holiday event. There will also be an opportunity to take pictures with Santa and to have light refreshments at the Moore Street Firehouse.

Store Front Holiday Decorating Contest: Participating stores will be judged during the event for Best Holiday Window Display. We will be handing out voting forms to all that attend the event. It will be up to you to pick the top three Holiday Window Displays.

Shop Till Midnight: "In an effort to show that Hackettstown is "open for business" this holiday season, the BID is once again promoting a "Shop ‘til Midnight" initiative," David M. Rucki, BID Executive Director explained. "Businesses are asked to stay open until midnight on the 5th, and the BID will coordinate programming throughout the night to keep people in town."

Throughout the evening, there will be lots of fun and exciting programming. Please check the Hackettstown BID website: www.hackettstownbid.com, for a schedule of all the events in the coming weeks.

This event is free of charge and open to the public.
